1964…Five Seabee Well Drill Unit #3 members were wounded when taken under grenade and small arms fire by an estimated ten Viet Cong while in a truck in An Xuyen Province.

1968…The Nam Hoa Bridge was opened. MGEN O.M. Barsanti, CG 101st Air Cav; BGEN N.Q. Truong, CG 1st RVN Army Division; and RADM Bartlett, COM3NCB attended.
… On 16 July an AMMI pontoon bridge over the Perfume River at Nam Hoa was dedicated after being completed two weeks ahead of schedule. The 560-foot bridge was the second of its type completed in Vietnam and formed a vital link in the line of communications supporting the area.
…NMCB-8 Change of Command, CDR R.J. Westberg relieved CDR J.F. O’Leary.
…43 men comprising NMCB-4’s Detail Foxtrot, which had been completing construction projects in Da Nang, returned to Camp Haines by both air and convoy.
…The dedication ceremony for Camp Haines was held with Radm. J.V. Bartlett, COM3NCB, as guest speaker. The camp was dedicated in honor of EOC John C. Haines who was killed during NMCB-4’s 1967 deployment to Da Nang.

1969…The Seabee Team 0513 compound near Ben Tre, Kien Hoa Province, received one B-40 rocket round. No casualties or damage.
…NMCB-53 held a Condition I drill with simulated gas and sapper attacks. The response was outstanding.
…At 0137 Camp Adenir went into Rocket Condition. Two enemy mortar rounds impacted just outside the perimeter wire at the south east corner of the camp. Several rounds impacted across the road at MAG-16
…Between 0130 and 0330, NMCB-4’s Detail Golf site came under mortar and small arms fire. No NMCB-4 personnel were injuried.
…NMCB-1 main Body consisting of 635 officers and men arrived at Camp Campbell. Main Body was entirely in place on 22Jul69
…CBMU-30215 was deployed to Saigon to make electrical repairs and improvements to Navy assets in the Saigon area

1970…LtGen. J.W. Sutherland, Jr., Commanding General, XXIV Corps visited the NMCB-10 Huong Tra Sub-Sector Headquarters construction site.
…Maj. L.J. Urban, USMC, Military Training Officer, COMCBPAC anf LtCdr. G.R. Gilmore, CEC, USN, Plans Officer, COMCBPAC conducted the Planning and Military Inspection.
… Distinguished visitors to Seabee units during the month included Lt. General J.W. Sutherland, Jr., Commanding General XXIV Corps, who visited NMCB-10 at the Houng Tra sub-sector headquarters construction site on 16 July
