1967… NMCB-74 Detail Hill724, consisting of 1 CPO and 9 other enlisted personnel, were deployed to Hill 724 north of Da Nang, upgrading the access road and constructing various facilities in support of the First LAAM Battalion, First Marine Air Wing. The Detail was active until late August 1967.
…CDR C.C. Heid, COS Officer, 30NCR and CDR T.K. Jones, Construction Directorate Command, Headquarters Saigon, visited the NMCB-3 camp.
…LCDR W.R. Glover arrived at NMCB-1 Camp Haskins to relieve LCDR R.S. Stedman Jr. as NMCB-1’s Executive Officer
…One daytime artillery attack at Dong Ha. Two mining incidents on Route 1 near Gio Linh wounded three NMCB-11 personnel.
…NMCB-4’s ENS D.R. Olson and 40 men departed Camp Hoover for Qui Nhon to construct facilities for the Naval Support Base, Qui Nhon. The project consisted of (1) 20’x72’ two story wood frame barracks with concrete deck and head facilities, (2) 20’x108’ two story wood frame barracks with concrete deck and head facilities, 20’x72’ and 20’x48’ one story wood frame administration building with concrete deck and plumbing and a 20’x60’ one story wood frame dispensary with concrete deck and plumbing.

1968…NMCB-58 began installation of 11,000 lin. ft. of six foot high security fence at FLC, Red Beach, Da Nang to facilitate the expansion of the FLC Compound and provide necessary security on its northern perimeter. (L7014, 6641 III; AT949797). The project was turned over to NMCB-22 0n 13 August 1968 with 93% of the project completed having expended 2813 mandays and placing $24,400 worth of material.
…NMCB-58 was in a Condition I Alert for approximately 30 minutes due to an enemy rocket attack on Camp Brooks.
…RADM J.V. Bartlett; CAPT J.R. Fisher; and CDR C.J. Mathews visited Saigon to inspect NMCB-58’s Dong Tam Detail.

1969…At a ceremony opening QL-1 from Hue to Da Nang, four NMCB-133 men were awarded the Vietnamese Technical Service Medal Second Class for their work on QL-1.

1970…All paving operations at the NMCB-10 Phu Bai Airfield project were completed.
…BGen. C.A. Jackson, Deputy Senior Advisor, Military Region One, officially opened and dedicated the MACV Mess Hall in Quang Tri.

1971…NMCB-5’s Detail Trotter completed construction at OPBASE Chau Duc and deployed to OPBASE Tan Chau to complete construction of selected punchlist items
