1968…CDR W.L. Wilson and LT J.L. Henley conducted the annual COMCBPAC Management Inspection of the NMCB-71 Operations, Training, and Administrative Departments.
…NMCB-62 Detail Whiskey, consisting of 25 men, departed Camp Haskins South for the An Hoa Airfield to construct 26 tent frames, 4 shower buildings, and two 50 foot observation towers for the 3/27 Marines.
…NMCB-7 celebrated the 17th Anniversary of its Commissioning with a ceremony in the Messhal. The men were addresses by CAPT A.W. Walton and CDR J.C. Rickels. The Ceremony was also attended by CDR W.K. Hartell, CO NMCB-11.
…NMCB-3 mortar alert at 0230 due to attack on FOB4 Special Forces Camp. Reaction Squads manned the lines until secured at 0600. No NMCB-3 casualties; no enemy rounds fell in Camp Faulkner.

1969…At 0134 Rocket Condition was set at Camp Adenir when ten enemy 122mm rocket rounds impacted on the Da Nang Air Base. No rounds landed within the NMCB-4 perimeter. At 2315 Rocket Condition was set again. As earlier, no rounds impacted within the NMCB-4 perimeter.

1970…NMCB-62 Detail Vicksburg, consisting of five Bravo Company personnel, deploye to Quang Ngai to construct a power distribution system.
