Jamal Khashoggi was a resident of the United States, but a citizen of Saudi Arabia. If the Saudi’s decide to kill one of their citizens, what is that to us? The journalistic lamentations about a foreign journalist seem to demand that we take punitive measures on the Saudi government. Bullshit! Our foreign policy of the Middle East is tenuous at best, and our Congress and State Department should act in our best national interest, and that doesn’t include getting involved in the internal affairs of a foreign government that commits murder—as reprehensible though it may be—of some non-citizen of the United States.
