It looks like Trump, in his address today, is asking Senator McConnell to go back on his pledge to not bring up any compromise immigration legislation unless it is previously agreed to by both the President and the Democrats.
It will be interesting to see what he does.
(It looks like I was wrong about McConnell's pledge, which apparently was that he would not bring up any legislation that the President would not sign.
