1966…NMCB-1’s Advance Party consisting of one officer and one hundred enlisted men departed CBC Davisville arriving at Red Beach One, Da Nang on 14 February 1966
1967…NMCB-58 completed a three phase 220 volt power drop for DPP at FLSG-A, Camp Books, Da Nang. The project had been begun on 11 February 1967.
…NMCB-40 completed construction of the 1st Marine Division Cantonment.
…NMCB-9 deployed a detail to Minh Long consisting of 19 men to construct an airstrip with C-123 capability.
1968…An NMCB-62 working party repairing a blown bridge on Route 1 (L7014, AT936908), 8 miles north of Camp Haskins, came under rifle and automatic weapons fire several times. No damage or casualties were sustained.
…On February 12th, twenty-five men from NMCB-4 Bravo Company were given the word that they had five hours to get their affairs settled and muster for their flight. On February 14th, the first group arrived at Camp Haskins North, and immediately started erecting cots and tents for themselves and preparing for the rest of the Company which was due to arrive by the end of the week.
…MCB-128, working from Camp Faulkner at Da Nang East, completed 16 projects during the month of February. Major completions included a 1,000 square foot administration building, 5 two-story barracks, and 1 BOQ for the 212th Aviation Battalion. At the Marble Mountain Air Facility, 194,000 square feet of runway was resurfaced and five 40x100 foot rigid frame metal buildings were erected. A water treatment plant and supporting buildings were also completed at Camp Tien Sha by the Seabees of MCB-128
1969…A front end loader operated by a member of Seabee Team 0513 detonated a 20 lb pressure mine in Kien Hoa Province. Minor injury to the operator, EO2 B. Kizer. The equipment was demolished.
…30NCR conducted a Civic Action project meeting for Seabee Battalions under their cognizance.
1970…NMCB-1 turned over operation of the asphalt plant at Phu Bai to NMCB-10
…NMCB-1’s Detail Whisky, consisting of an OIC and 45 enlisted men rejoined the battalion at Camp Haskins North.
1971…LTJG P.McCoy and Mr. Dick Spenser of Seabee Systems Engineering Office (SSEO), Port Hueneme, visited NMCB-74 at CBC Bien Hoa.
…NMCB-74 Detail Juliett, consisting of 1 officer and 36 enlisted men, deployed to Mui Dinh via LST for a beach landing.
1972…A footbridge recently completed by Seabee Team 7411 in Can Giuoc District, Long An Province, was burned by Viet Cong.
…Two members of Seabee Team 7108 returned fire when brought under enemy small arms fire while surveying a road project in Go Cong Province.
