On May 4th 1967 at approximately 1400 hours, EOH3 W. H. Rivers, USN was killed in a loading accident at the LCU Ramp in Dong Ha. Memorial Services for Petty Officer Rivers were conducted on 7 May. From a ship mate Bill M.
