…The Seabee Team 1013 compound and Xuan Loc City came under heavy enemy rocket, mortar, and small arms fire. CE2 Phillip Lee Grieser was killed by shrapnel.
On the evening of 18May1969, Construction Electrician Philip Grieser was fatally wounded by an enemy rocket. Phil Grieser was standing watch over his sleeping comrades of Seabee Team 1013 at Xuan Loc City, about 50 miles north-east of Saigon.

Construction Electrician Second Class Philip Lee Grieser Let us not forget Construction Electrician Second Class Philip Lee Grieser, casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Navy, CE2 Grieser served our country until May 18th, 1969 in Bing Thuy, South Vietnam. He was 23 years old and was married. Philip died from an undetermined explosion. His body was recovered. Philip was born on January 17th, 1946 in St Paris, Ohio. He served our country for 3 years.
