DCR Report:
1968…An NMCB-62 truck convoy was ambushed on Route 1 (L7014, AT934885), 7 miles north of Camp Haskins, approximately 2 miles south of the Hai Van Pass, at 1248 hours. The action was initiated by a command detonated mine and followed up by extensive rifle and automatic weapons fire. NMCB-62 sustained one KIA and four WIA as a result of the ambush:
