Ground Casualty
CN James R. Dyer was a constructionman serving with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Ten (NMCB-10), 3rd Naval Construction Brigade, MACV. On July 1, 1965, CN Dyer became ill while serving in Vietnam. His condition required he be evacuated to the United States where he died of encephalitis and pneumonia on August 6, 1965, at Brooke General Hospital at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
