Along the lines of, "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger," it seems to me that all these hacks & attacks should be fostering a strong immune response, so that (especially) our central and vulnerable networks become much better defended. That's the GOOD news way of looking at the events.
I've been hacked once by someone stealing a frequently used password from Experian. I was threatened with dire consequences if I did not pay immediately. That was the first day; the second day another worse threat came. I did not respond, but changed many passwords. I also improved my defenses, and I feel reasonably secure.
I am sure all the commercial digital security firms and all the government entities are busy, busy, busy, devising better defenses. Replies:
