Road Closure notice at the Bracebridge Ponds

Just passing along a request by staff at the Bracebridge Ponds today...

We've been asked to stop walking along the roadway at the east side of cell 1 (next to the industrial area). There was an earlier cave-in and that roadway has now been deemed "unsafe". A "road closed" barrier has been placed across the road, which is now meant to exclude pedestrians too.

Also, it was confirmed that the access from Kerr Park remains open to birders and hikers. The gate only appears to be locked...on purpose to deter vehicles. Just lift the chain up over the post so the gate can open, and replace the chain after entering. Note the chain is very rusty and rubs off on hands and clothing...I've hinted a new chain would be nice. ;)

The Muskoka Bird Board is a place to share reports of birds and other nature sightings in Muskoka and surrounding areas. You may also post a question about birds or birding in general. You don't have to include an email address in your post. Remember to include the location of your sightings - even the nearest town or major crossroads would be fine.
