Re(1): 2009 COLA now up on Pension site

My previous post here had a comment that makes it clear that I should read more carefully before I comment. The referrences to class 31 in the referrenced letter deals with that classes divisor and had nothing to do with the COLA. Sorry.
When dealing with the CPI-U we have to remember that the Bureau of Labor Statistics computes the data on an annual basis while the pension fund uses the fiscal year, Oct. through Sep. This requires adding Oct., Nov., & Dec 2006 figures to the first nine months of 2007. Then do the same for Oct., Nov., & Dec 2007 and the first nine months of 2008. Subtract the lower # from the larger for the difference, etc..... The Bureau does not have Dec 2008 figures yet and the Pension Board needs a 12 month period. Its also in the contract, Section 23.
