The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

HONESTLY, QUEDA WAS not sure what to think of the alphas anymore. Not that she was thinking disloyal thoughts, or that she was losing faith in them. It was just odd that suddenly a large, black male came to answer the pack calls … and yet Kimani and Nephthys’ scents remained strong. So, was he a mate to one of them? It would obviously be Kimani, since Nephthys either had Eclipse, or not so long ago had Eclipse. Either way, she would not have found another mate. Perhaps, then Kimani ruled with the black male, and Nephthys was … well, where did that leave the once reigning queen at? The silver femme was not sure, and decided to end a headache early by no longer thinking of it … and not allowing herself to think of Kodiak. Where ever the bear like male was, it was not with her, and so she did not want to dwell on the idea that he had disappeared again.

HER SMALL, SLENDER figure moved with a royal grace through the snow buried land. Nose twitched every now and then to check for either a newcomer, or anyone familiar. It seemed so lonely recently in the thickly forested terra. She was a beautiful femme, small yet perfectly fit, and once a queen. Not that she was at all bitter about no longer being able to rule … there were worse things that had happened. A light dusting of snow was now on covering her pelt, giving it a slight dazzle as the silver moonlight graced her form. Her grey eyes, which appeared silver under the straight moonlight, were alert … searching for any other form of canine life among the trees.

SHE SIGHED … IT truly had been ages since she had seen her mate, and she knew it. Had he even made it to the last active check? If not, then he was most likely not even legally allowed back into the borders, which saddened her. So, to stop any tears or depressing thoughts, Queda concentrated fully on finding someone. Newcomer or friend, anyone … just to give her thoughts better direction. And as if the angels had willed it, a gorgeous lullaby like hymn filled the air, swirling its melody around her and wrapping tightly against her entire form. Its gentle warmth melded lovely with the still night air, which was a crisp wintery feel. It was almost too tempting to not quicken her speed to reach the source of such a melody.

QUEDA MOVED GRACEFULLY from between the trees, arriving at the border where a white male sat, waiting. A small, sweet smile formed on her lips, though all the same her guard was not being let down. Especially since he was not yet submitting. Her pace was soon halted as she stood in front of him, a few feet on Andere Seite’s side of the border. A slight polite nod was the only gesture she gave towards him.

Evening, sir. Our alphas are about the land, and I’m sure they will come shortly. Meanwhile, it would be in your greatest interest to submit before they arrive.

AS SHE SPOKE she noticed how very … blue, his eyes were. That was the only way she could really describe them … nothing else fit as well. They were probably the bluest pair of eyes she had ever seen. As he either submitting or remained seated, her skull raised towards the dark sky, which was still snowing ever so lightly. A beautiful melody of her own lifted to the skies … snaking around trees and letting its unique, almost haunting presence fill the ears of any creature within the radius. It was letting the alphas know that someone was there, watching the newcomer, so there was no rush for them to arrive.

I am Queda, by the way.

WHEN SHE HAD finished her call, her eyes had returned to carefully watching the ivory male, and figured if he was to supposedly be a future member, introductions were rather appropriate. After all, what much else was there to really say … as far as she was concerned, learning and knowing another’s name was a great way to start any potential conversation.
