TO ALL RETIREES,
On June 11, 2009, your Board of Directors will have completed the screening for the upcoming Fire Trustee Election. All 3 candidates were contacted and were happy to come and discuss their candidacy with your Board. As you all know, the Trustee position is a very important one to all of us. Our Trustees oversee our pension fund and protect our financial future. So, it is very obvious why we should support the best candidate for the Trustee position. By 8 pm, June 11, 2009, we will post the opinion of your Board of Directors as to who we feel would be the best person for the job.
This election is required because Fire Trustee Tracy Walker is entering DROP and must therefore resign his position on the pension board. There are 3 candidates vying for his trustee position. All 3 candidates appear to be very capable and one candidate has served as a Trustee before. The 3 candidates are: Don Adwell, James Gilligan and Dan Lombard, in alphabetical order. After tomorrows screening, the other 2 candidates will have the opportunity to post on our web site and discuss their candidacy and issues of importance. Dan Lombard was screened yeswterday and has already posted on our site. Please review his comments. Hopefully by Thursday evening, all 3 candidates will have posted their views for your consideration. Tune in tomorrow to see the Boards' recommendation for the Fire Trustee spot. With such a strong slate of candidates it will be a dificult call and may depend on one answer or view. Until Thursday at 8PM, be well and be informed.
