People keep asking - what are you listening to, how do I find some good new music.

People also keep sending me interesting links to new music sites, blogs etc...Billy recently emailed an interesting article by Nick Hornby on finding new music in 2009 with the demise of the small local record shops.

Interesting stuff. Someone told me this weekend that the Genius link on ITUNES is cool, and someone else that Spotify is going to break everything wide open when it hits the US of A. What do you Europeans think of Spotify? Looks pretty amazing. Is BT on Spotify?

What are some new things you are listening to?
How do you all find out about new music?

I don't have a lot of new music tips myself. I've been watching a lot of movies. I liked Jane Campion's Bright Star - John Keats film, though its not for everyone. I didn't know much about his life actually. I was always a bit puzzled by poetry like this in school. I still am I guess. Fascinating how people were so obsessed by poetry in this era. The film gave life to some of these poems I've heard before but never really listened to.
I also saw a great film called the Elegance of the Hedgehog. I haven't read the novel, which I hear is popular and great.
Both of these films remind me how much I like the low budget smaller projects with more modest ambitions.
I re-watched Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dreams - which is a fantastic - but a largely ignored - noir/Chabrol type thriller movie. Falls into the catagory of Match Point, which I think is one of greatest films of all time for me.
