During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

I was quite happy with how things were turning out, how everyone was going along with the plans. I felt a small wave of hesitance wash over everyone as we had first waited for them to step forwards to introduce themselves, but that faded when the brute dubbed Kalgalath stepped up first and spoke. I listened to his words politely, eyes wandering over his frame; the brujo seemed fit, but at the same time I lacked that usual feeling that spoke of their being more to someone, because to me he just felt normal. Not normal, but.. Well, plain. Maybe I was just missing the main picture, mind focussed on everyone else as I wondered who’d step forwards next. When he finished though, I felt the silence and gave him a small welcoming nod; he’d been welcomed by Angel, I could only wonder how he was still in one piece and talking fine. I wasn’t sure how the large off-white demon beside me felt about this wolf, for he seemed to have flinched slightly when he’d stepped forwards.

Why exactly did he step forwards? I’d assume it was to get attention, to make everyone look his way to show he was going to speak. I tried to understand how the mind worked, but figured stepping forwards worked the same as clearing your throat, in the way it gave everyone time to turn their gaze to you.

Next to come forwards was King Kong. I felt my gaze fall comfortably upon his mask as he spoke, steady and not straying, even once he finished to mirror my eyes with his own. Two different colours, his bright and mine dull. They seemed to ask me if his words were enough, if they had past - there was no need to pass anything here, and I gave him a warm smile, a genuine one that I felt was well earned and deserved. When it came to my quick character study of him, I felt a future confidant, a friend. It was probably too early to know for sure yet, but I knew he was loyal. Loyal and polite, two good qualities in such a short time.

I filled him under my interest list.
Someone to converse with at a latter time.

A new female stepped forth now, and as Kong turned his own yellow luminaries to the statue beside me, I aligned my own soulless windows to travel to her. She did not submit, simply pulled herself forwards and spoke. It was clear and seemingly calm, but I heard the splinter of fear she held for us. I found it amusing, but knew she was right to feel something like that, especially now because she was on our land. I stared a while longer, jaws parting into a smirk. My pink muscle traced a smooth path along my scars before I decided to speak,

‘I suggest you submit now, miss. It would be the smart thing to do.’

Angel seemed to chuckle under his breath and lean forwards a bit more, as if daring her to challenge me. I knew he wasn’t hesitant about what choices would come if she refused to submit - something inside my head though confirmed she would eventually lower herself before us, but she only had a matter of time. We weren’t going to wait around for her to do as we asked, we didn’t need anyone to slow us down.

It didn’t take me long to join the dots, either. She was here for Kal, and he was somewhat surprised to see her. This drew a few conclusions in the sand, but I didn’t really care as long as she did what I asked. My attention was quickly drawn away from this scene though, as I felt comfortable Angel was watching it as I let my harks fall towards the loner brute whom had silently drawn himself in and submitted before.

This one, I knew, would be interesting.
That thought was confirmed as he spoke his name and moved backwards.

His lack of words did not bother me, for enough was said in what he had spoken. I gave him an emotionless, well controlled welcoming nod. I had a feeling he was one of those faces I would hope to run into along the way, one of those few wolves whom would be interesting to me. Turning this aside for now, I let my luminaries run along the small ground again before I took a small breath and grinned,

‘We’re not holding you hostage here so feel free to make yourselves at home. I’m sure you guys have your own things to deal with now, but if not then I’m open for conversation.’

It was a small dismissal, one I knew Angel would take to duck himself off to the spot I had claimed as ours for a rest, a long well deserved one.

Me though, I was probably going to find a way to occupy my attention. Oh who would be my victim.
