During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

The jetty brute caught a whiff on the air and a smile tugged at the corners of his scars in response. Twisting his cap slightly, he took in the sight of his loyal friend Kalgalath right as the titan walked form the shadows to join him. It felt more comfortable, having the other hunter there and Kong let a soft sigh escape his maw, wanting to relax in the presence of the femina. She seemed nice though a bit more silent than the others. He could handle that though, it was the overly talkative ones that drained his tolerance. The belle didn't submit after he spoke and for that he was glad just as before when he noticed she wasn't submitting at the border while she waited. Maybe word was getting around that the alphas were gone. He hoped that was the only reason else these new comers would find themselves in bad favor of joining the pack once Paranoia and Angel returned. He frowned a bit again, wondering when that time would be but he couldn't push it, though he would if he could. Hell, they needed to get back soon. This was starting to feel way too much like alphaship, something he had been trying to escape for so long.

It wasn't the power or anything of the position that Kong was trying to escape. He had been an alpha once and he was never bad at his job. He held up his duties of taking on all challengers fairly and even allowed some access into his pack after the fight. After all, the way he looked at it, his win earned him respect and they would probably be some of the loyalest wolves in his pack. It was true for the longest time too. They held a respect for him because of the fight they'd experienced and for the mercy he'd shown them on the arena field. His loyalty had failed instead in the most critical area: his mate and queen. She had been the first to turn her back on him, waiting till he was away at battle to bring in her secret lover and help him gain control over the pack. When he returned from his fight to see his pack, which had won fair and square from one challenger, in the paws of another with his mate rubbing at the boy's side like a feline its owner, it had near pushed the boy over the top. Needless to say King left that place and wandered for a bit, becoming something he regretted and despised. A monster.

He chose not to dwell on that life and today would be no exception. His pools which had darkened for a few seconds cleared and were once more the soft brown irises of Kong. The dark femora spoke again, calling herself Dazzle Me. He smiled again. It was a nice name and the smile that came after it on her livids was something he felt he had to respond to. Her next words were a bit more ill spoken though and at once he felt a strange frown on his mug. Why would she say something like that? He needed more answers now. Maybe the dryad had been a bit too honest with the vampire. He tilted his dial to side and spoke.

Why would they fear something like that, m'lady? No offense if you think yourself fearsome or anything but I look at you and sense no fear or need to fear. I do not smell death on your coat. Are you going for a name like that? I am merely curious.

He took in the scent of Crazy Angel at that point and resisted the urge to twist his pate once more. She was hiding so it seemed for he didn't sense her paw prints coming out into the open. He wondered vaguely at why she was hiding but figured as long as it was harmless, he would let it go. She would come out when she felt like it. He let his globes pull slightly to the side to glance at Kalgalath, wanting his input on the situation at hand, either silently or out loud, whichever the demon could give him for he was growing a little skeptical in this case.
