The silicon chip inside her head got switched to overload

Nobody’s going to go to school today, she’s going to make them stay at home

Her daddy doesn’t understand it, he always said she was good as gold

Lilith walked down the stairs from her room and sighed, looking at all the people who were around, children crying, adults pale and looking more scared than the children were. She offered reassuring smiles to those who met her gaze, knowing that she had a position to hold too. She was the one who could see into Mallos’ head, and she was Arthur’s lover. That meant that she had a very important job to do. Keep Arthur grounded. If she didn’t, then things could go wrong. Very wrong.

She passed a few children, products of the second baby boom, she herself being a product of the first. Shortly, Minn joined her as she walked through the crowded halls, the younger girl holding onto her sister’s hand, looking around silently. The whole thing was daunting, the idea of being stuck here for weeks, maybe months as the floodwaters receded. The feline girl and the water girl passed by the fire and looked upon the young girl with porcelain white skin, her pale hair and the heart shaped face that looked so much like Aura. She recognised the girl, and tried to put a name to the face. When she failed, however, she led her younger sister over to her other sibling and bent down, looking at her with a kind face, so unlike her fathers.

“Hello little one. My name is Lilith, and this is my sister, Minn.”
The girl made of compressed water waved her hand shyly before smiling and sticking her thumb in her mouth. “Are you Jasper’s sister?” And are you my sister too? She longed to say. She knew that she had many siblings in Shaman, and that Mallos himself thought that Arthur was a product of his loins. She knew better though, that he was, in fact, a product of Poppy’s magic, much like Seth had been, and her old feline friend who was sleeping on her bed upstairs. “What is your name?” She asked quietly, smiling with no ill intentions.

They were all scared here; all they had was each other and the friendships that had been forged. Unfortunately, she thought, not all of the friends she had made were as trustworthy as the rest. Pushing the thought away she reached out her hand the lumps of clay that had been bought in on the boots of other fairies as they came in, and they came to life, coming together to form a small cat. “I miss my familiar too,” she said, her mind having brushed on the thought. “And there are fairies here that have just been born, some others who survived as young as two or three. I am sure that you can make some friends here if you talk to someone.” The smile that was on her face remained, but her eyes were sad, sad for the friends that she had lost, sad for the people who had lost their lives in the journey to the Core, but thankful that so many people had survived… so far…
