I sighed to myself, holding the baby over my shoulder softly, patting his back. I didn't know how to do this at all. I couldn't even feed him cause I didn't know what he would eat. I groaned and felt my eyes starting to close, but then Prophet would begin to scream again and I'd snap back awake. I was sat in one of the corridors of the castle, just trying to calm him down. I couldn't blame him, he was in an unfamiliar place with huge waves wiping out everything in sight outside and his dad, being me of course, was clearly just stupid in the ways of fatherhood. My head drooped slightly again. I'd been awake all night with him and after the run to get here, I was exhausted. I laid down on my side and sat him in front of me on top of my t-shirt. My coat had been ruined by the salt in the water so having took it off to put it on the floor, I found myself now cold as well as tired. Great, I was now in a castle, topless, coatless, motherless and to be fair at this moment in time, hoping I was babyless.
I groaned and slowly felt myself slipping into a slumber. I wrapped my arm around Prophet who was still crying and yawned. However, it suddenly occured to me he was quietening down. I opened my eyes to see him snuggled into my chest, my t-shirt that had been on the ground now in his tiny arms. All along my body, thin white hairs had begun to sprout out of my skin and it suddenly occured to me, he was cold as well as hungry. I closed my eyes and felt my form shift into that of a wolf before we both eventually dozed off. I hoped she would come, I needed her so much right now. Even though Prophet was sleeping beside me in wolf form, I knew he was safe, but I didn't just need her, I wanted her. Replies:
