Siobhan landed heavily on the outskirts of the Core, dropping Skylar harder than she meant to. The teenager caught herself quickly though and steadied her savior, helping her to the ground before sitting beside her and looking around. They had left at the last minute, Siobhan being stubborn and running around to make sure everyone else had gotten out and trying to find her familiar. Their link had already been an odd one, connecting their minds more than their souls like everyone else, so she had never been able to "feel" where Anathema was located, just that she was there. The Labyrinth had bought them some time, breaking the flood waters but not by much, and it was only when Skylar was screaming at her did she finally grab her and leave
They had flown here, luckily not a very far distance, but enough to exhaust her. On their way there had been a stifling silence, both Sky and Sio shocked and terrified of the destruction around them. Now they sat in silence again, Siobhan trying to catch her breath and Skylar trying to figure out what to do
Do you think the water will recede?
Skylar wondered out loud, standing and dusting the dirt off her pants
It has to
Siobhan whispered, looking around blankly. For once in her life she had no idea what on earth to do, and was absolutely terrified. She couldn't just go and think like before.
Now what?
I- I don't know. Adonis- Adonis will. He'll know what to do. He'll know
She got up with the help of Sky before heading towards the center of the Core. There were others milling around, happy reunions as others continued to search for their loved ones. Skylar slipped off to search for Maria, the one who oddly reminded her of her mother. She still didn't know her very well, but she obviously was a child of Mallos, with the skill to control at least some water, so Skylar couldn't help but not be too worried for her. She still had an oddly protective feeling towards her new friend, and wanted to make sure she was ok
Siobhan wondered blankly through the people, trying to find Adonis or anyone else she recognized. She needed to find Adonis. She wanted to be with Adonis, even if they were still a little iffy with everything going on. She began to clinch her fists and try to hide her panic as more time began to pass. Chocking back a sob, she leaned against a wall and hugged herself tightly. It would be ok. Everything would be ok. She needed Adonis to tell her that everything would be ok.
