At his seemingly polite offer she does take a seat and leaves enough space between them for Itzal to come up and sit as well. The wolves eyes are intriguing in one way or another, and as Adonis begins to speak, her attention stays with him but her focus drifts to Itzal. She runs her hands through his dark coat and rubs his ears and even scratches underneath his chin. Charlotte may not understand the depth or the concept of ‘soul mate’ or ‘familiar’ but she will one day learn, until then she simply assumes that Itzal is with Adonis because he trusts the man and Adonis is with Itzal because a dog is a man’s best friend – no matter what kind of a dog. Either way the intrigue is there with in the calm centers of her snowstorm gray eyes that are silver in contrast to the gold of Itzal’s eyes. Adonis continues his monologue the way a history teacher would talk about the world in times of war. In a sense this Mallos guy is starting to remind her of someone she’s heard about before.

Because Charlotte is Charlotte and no one else but herself – she says what she says because she says it.

“So Mallos is Hitler. Got it.” And that’s her confirmation that she’s been listening this entire time.

For a moment she leaves Itzal alone and sits back to study Adonis for a moment. She’s unafraid of staring at people if only because they stare at her just the same – if not more. Adonis, of course, doesn’t have to be roped into that generalization but that doesn’t stop Charlotte from addressing some of his more severe characteristics. He doesn’t have to tell her a whole lot for her to know that he’s been through a lot of Hell here in Shaman and most of it she can tell from looking at his eyes. He looks older than he probably is and is past the point of exhaustion that he could probably care less if he slept right now or not.

Then again, she’s not a mind reader and she’s kind of hungry, the cold is starting to finally set in but she ignores it for now.

“Well no. I think that really does sum up Shaman in a robin’s egg.” She uses the term ‘egg’ instead of ‘nutshell’ because for some reason she thinks that the history here is fragile and always breaking. “Talking horses do sound pretty amazing but I think I’m more interested in Itzal here.” She rubs his ear once more and smiles at him, it’s one of those comfortable smiles. At that, she thinks more about what he’s said and turns back to look at him. “Actually I do have a question.”

A pause, she tries to say it in a way that doesn’t sound like she doesn’t care.

“That’s great about Shaman and all but you left out the part about yourself, how does Adonis fit into Shaman?”

So we did make love. Is that what you're calling it?

…this is probably just another one of those cry-for-help things.
