It's not the end of the world now baby....

I see her watching as my cigarette goes spiralling off away from us and I miss it already. I can still taste it on my lips and in my mouth, its bitter sweeet taste, the smoke coiling around in my mouth. I stop for a moment and shake my head of such thoughts and turn my attention back to Amelie and smile. She has accepted my apology, thankfully. Yeah, I was too damn sneaky for my own good sometimes. I mean it comes as part of the hunt I guess, watching, waiting for the creature whatever it might be to make its move. My stomach growls in hunger for a moment and I'm about to apologise when I realise I already have apologised to her for one thing that was just my nature. If I apologised for everything I did, then it would probably be all I said. Sorry for smoking, sorry for sighing, sorry for thinking, sorry for being so damn good looking, oh wait, no that's not included. That's just a funny thought in my head I guess. God I got carried away sometimes.

I laugh, a short bark like laugh as she repeats my name and says I am the first person she has met. Glad to know I've made an impression. I smile and let go of her hand, her warmth still on my palm. My senses were stronger of that of most people, my skin almost like fur itself, not just soft, but they seemed to feel everything. When the breeze blew, it would pass over my skin like a beautiful wave, bringing with it the feel of the air and the smells would pass into my nose. What would be normally oxygen to some was like a whirlwind to me sometimes. I could smell everything, the salty water, any animals in the area, and at present, I could smell Amelie. Not just cause she was close to me, but she held an aura of kindness that in itself, smelt so damn sweet it was intoxicating. When I say intoxicating, I didn't mean in the way I would like to just eat her up, like I was probably capable of, but just the smell of something sweet cancelled out the smell of destruction and the waves for once.

Amelie explains that she is not from here and I understand exactly how she feels. I wasn't born here, I just appeared one day out of the blue with no memory of my life before it. I didn't want to remember to be honest, who knows what lurked in the shadows of my mind. All I could remember was that I could turn into a wolf at will. Whether that be something I could always do or something that had been placed upon me, I didn't know, but who knows. No one does. I nod and listen, my smile widening a little as she says her father couldn't deal with her energy. Thankfully I could. If she wanted to run around, I'd run with her, but to be honest, she looked quicker than me to I'd probably have to shift form. Yes, in human form, I was lazy other than for sex half the time. I could walk for miles, swim the oceans but running. No way. Smoker much?

And then it comes, two questions in fast succession that take me a little by surprise, however, I smile and answer them as best as I can.

"Well I haven't been here too long and with this curses flying around, its not overly amazing at present, so be careful ok? But it was once a great place. People have changed though, in there.." I pointed to the castle. "...is where everyone is hiding after the flood of the lands. I don't live there no, but I am a member of the council there."

I turn slowly and point out over lands which are damp but not covered in water.

"I live out there, in Shady Labyrinth, land of the wolves. You'll have to come visit sometime, if you'd like?"

I say before falling silent, realising I've been speaking quite a bit.
