Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

Snow shoe paws went over the thin layer of snow silently. Rikku was tired and worn from her mindless traveling over the mountain for several days. She had on her plain leather collar on from human that was her father's before her, hidden in the soft mossy green fur that covered most over her body. Below that and covering her muzzle and making a line on her forehead was a light grey-green color that also made dots on her eye brows, ear tips and under tail. The thing though that stood out was the darker green stripes. Tora-gi, was what they called her kind, and the Akita's with stripes were more sought after and rare and are thought of as the best of their breed.

The reason she was here now though was because of her skills. Her master had died a few days ago while they were hunting bears here on the mountain. The ultimate challenge animals where here in this area dubbed the Wolf Mountain Territory and a challenge it was. In the end the bear succumbed to the combined strength of man and canine Rikku's master still got killed in the male bear's final moments of life. Raised on the tough gamy bear meat her father and master had caught when she was still a pup the green fem ate her fill from that kill then moved on. She didn't know how to hunt any other game than bear though she was sure wolf, fox, deer and bore were no different and probably easier than those huge beasts.

Rikku still mourned the death of her master, though the freedom she felt was certainly interesting. A wild dog, that was what she would have to become in order to survive and she would. Bright green eyes moved around the area, her darker green stripes working like a small illusion as she moved between the pines. Was this mountain Wolf Mountain? The name sake of the lands? Something told her no, just didn't feel right.

She stopped slowly, her nose twitching as a fresh scent touched it. It wasn't canine, nor was it bear... The muscular akita inu wasn't sure what it was and she was going to go find out. Picking up her pace to a run she gracefully carried herself closer and closer to the scent then stopped going completely still when her eyes met with the feline.

She wasn't sure what it was though she had glimpsed bob cats in her life never a feline like that. Her bright eyes didn't leave the snow leopard, she waited wanting to see if it was a threat or was a calm creature. She didn't want to waste her precious energy on the cat if she didn't have to.
