Granada, Spain, AD 990
The incessant giggling was getting extremely annoying. He silenced her by pressing his lips against hers, feeling her quiver beneath his fingertips. She was an extremely silly creature - less beautiful than she believed herself to be and without the intelligence to fill an acorn cup, constantly floating around in her best dresses and pouting at any handsome young lad who looked her way. Her only attraction had been the challenge; as the mayor of the town's daughter, no one should be more properly brought up than her nor harder to get at. Annoyingly, the 'challenge' had been almost as easy as was being then, and he found her girlish idiocy mind-numbingly dull. Mallos could put up with that, however... if the little imbecile hadn't let slip the time and place of the 'meeting' with her equally dim-witted friends. The sound of their high pitched voices, giggles and little screams (he could just picture them swooning and clutching at one another as one of them steps on a twig) could probably be heard as far as the village.

Maybe she could feel his irritation growing, because she suddenly gave such a loud squeal he could feel his ear drums vibrating. Growling, he pulled back - ignoring her little whining cries of "don't stop!" - and cast an eye over to a pair of trembling bushes. It was a warm night, and rather than risk discovery behind the thin walls of an abandoned house in the village, he'd recommended that they meet up on the hillside behind the copse. His interest had been extremely casual and only in fun, and he didn't intend to have his name blackened in the village for her sake; she, on the other hand, seemed to regard this as an opportunity to showcase herself as an item with (let's face it) the best-looking guy on the planet. Never kiss an attention-seeker, Mallos mentally noted to himself sourly as she pawed at his chest.

It was at that moment that he felt a slight telepathic tug pulling him in the direction of the copse. Dropping the idiotic girl and ignoring her indignant cry, Mallos turned and strolled purposefully towards the trees. The copse was small; it wasn't long before the shadows opened up once again too moonlight, and he found himself standing opposite a truly beautiful and exotic woman. Her black skin (there really was no other word to describe it, its darkness was so rich) glowed with health and magic and her thick hair fanned out behind her like a pair of wings. He smiled.

"Hello, Allianah. You should know not to sneak up on a man like that."

There was a little crashing sound behind him, followed by some hysterical giggling and someone making a shushing sound. Allianah raised an eyebrow. "You should be afraid, Mallos; I have brought terrible news for all people. Tonight in Greece a baby has been born... the one who will destroy the world."

"Ominous." He edged closer. "You look stunning tonight, you know."

"There will be no glory for the originals and no peace for fairykind," Allianah declared, returning his comment with nothing more than a withering stare. "The council assigned me to inform all originals, and inform you I have."

"Well, er - good job. Are you staying?"

She scowled at him and vanished on the spot. Mallos grinned - Allianah was the only woman he knew who seemed completely impervious to his charm, but he rather thought that that was just an act.
A child has been born... how could anyone call a child the Destructor? Seemed a little harsh, considering nobody had given it a chance to grow up and develop a personality yet. Perhaps he should see it for himself... Greece wasn't at all far from Spain, after all. Then again, nothing was far from anywhere when you could just teleport there.

There was a noise behind him, and he turned around to see four young ladies standing a short distance away, prodding one another and giggling. They all squealed in unison as his eyes fell upon them. They're like sheep, Mallos thought in irritance; really annoying sheep that you just can't shake yourself of. Really, they weren't worth his time at all. Recreational activities usually sat at the top of Mallos' 'important jobs to do' list, but there was little fun to be had from such foolish women and in any case, it wasn't every day that a Destructor was born.

"Well, my dears," he performed an exaggerated bow to them all. "It has been a pleasure seeing you all, and now I must bid you goodnight."

And, before their very eyes, he melted away into nothingness. Their screams woke every person in the village.
