The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Of course, this wasn't the first time they had tried this.

"Idiot, Violet! What makes you think that this pack is so much better than the ones back home?"

Red was... well, miffed. Which isn't that different from normal, don't get me wrong. But her paws were sore and her belly was empty, and this trek was seeming pointless. They needed no pack, they had each other and that had always been enough before. But Violet had insisted, quite snippily, that Red was enough of a liability by herself that they needed the support of an entire pack.

It takes a pack to raise a pup, she had chided, smirking over Red's left shoulder as she did.

She was not a pup! Red could take care of herself, unlike her -other- inept sisters. She sighed, resigned to following the blind one - which was probably not the best idea, except for the fact that Violet was competent in her own right.

"I hope you don't get us all killed, Violet. You've almost done it thrice!"

Blue looked towards one sister, then the other. Honestly, both her sisters tended to step out of line and it took all her focus to keep -Red- from making an ass of herself, let alone Violet. She lets out a near-silent sigh, shaking her head solemnly as she walks. Father would never allow for such loud children, had he been alive. Blue was the only one who really remembered him, such a silent and honorable man he was. But she couldn't blame them for losing their ways, under the circumstances. Father had been killed during a raid when they were still small, and mother wasn't around long enough to do more than teach them to survive. The pack did most of the teaching, telling them how to steal and lie and kill. But it was up to her to take care of these two, even if they didn't like it.

"You have no faith in me, sister! I know what I am doing, don't doubt me!" she snapped, one ear on her sisters and the other angled straight ahead as her ears and nose scouted for any information. And... ah, here they were. The scent border was strong, and Violet promptly sat down and heard gentle 'thuds' as her sisters sat beside her, Blue to her left and then Red to Blue's left. She stared straight ahead, confident that they needn't make any noise of their presence. After all, three wolves at the border? Their scent would be enticing enough. Red would say that any male in his right mind would come to the scent of three mature, pupless females for an entirely different reason.

But she didn't. For once, Red was as silent as her sisters.
