Layla noticed their expressions as Lea spoke of Rikki being underweight. At this she explained. It seems you two are not typical African Lions, if I’m correct. Lions of our species have prides consisting of many females and their cubs, dominated by one male lion. The females do all the hunting, because it’s their job. It’s also their job to raise the cubs, working together and raising each others cubs in a sort of crèche. The male does one thing; he protects the pride. From everything from food snatches, cub eaters, and rival males. And you’ll be good to side with our male, Rikki, because if another male decides to take over and he wins, he will kill your underage cubs so he can mate with you. She paused, hoping that the two lionesses were taking all this in. And so, without females to hunt for him, Rikki has suffered as males are thrown out of their birth prides before they can learn how to hunt as well as females. This is why he is underweight.
Lea grinned as the females seriously considered her offer. Eventually though, they seemed to both agree to meet Rikki. Lea nodded, knowing this was a good decision. Good choice. He is waiting for Layla and I at The Fields Of Dancing Light. That is out decided place to live for the moment, though we might more elsewhere in time. You two can make your own way there, I’m sure, but you could follow us if you like. Were a bit late actually. Lea turned and Layla did too, and they walked away.
