Bright Moon - a land sullied by mystery and the ravaging scars of a terrible fire. Abandoned as a pack land for years, the terra has been used as a gathering place for the brazen and bloodthirsty drawn there by the lingering pall of death. Yet from the ashes there comes an unordained phoenix, the rainbow hues of hope glinting in her mismatched globes. Through the obsidian drapes obscuring the scenery, she alone was able to catch the perfumed aroma of new life on the breeze and hear the sluggish streams flowing ever swifter into the morning.

Thus, with a purpose, she set out to map the incognita, discovering daily the extent of the reawakening and unearthing within herself a desire to return the landscape to its former glory. Now she stands tall as privileged Alpha of the lands, lording over the rock-strewn prairie and bountiful forests with a firm but gentle paw.

Having finally realized her deepest longing to be a queen, Satowra is focused solely on the revival and maintenance of the Bright Moon Pack. Her question to each prospective warrior that comes to the border is simple:

"Do you have what it takes?"

Makko’s light mousy pelt stood out in contrast of the dark sooty earth. She was hurt and shocked by the news of the Alphess Satowra leaving. Whatever could have caused the strong and determined fae to leave? Her heart felt tight as if a wolf’s jaws clamped around it. Satowra had left without even saying good bye to her. She knew she shouldn’t have expected as much, she hadn’t been in the pack long enough for Makko to have gotten to know her, but it still hurt. She had wanted to get to know her old Alphess better, to learn from her and be a part of the pack family. But she would have to make anew. But where could Satowra have gone? And why? Makko shook her head, annoyed with herself for thinking about it too much. Part of her wanted to be angry with the old Alphess, but the other side wanted to understand. Makko’s love for the land and longing to see it grow and survive had taken after Satowra. It was almost infectious, with the Old Alphess’s love for it. But it was something Makko had also grown to love.

Makko padded through the forest, her nostrils taking in the scent of the soot and ash which seemed to cling to her pelt like spurs. Her paws left light indentions in the ash, leaving paw prints behind her. She stopped beside a flower that was managing to thrive through the dead earth, and she smiled. The flower resembled the pack. It was young. It needed nourishment and love, something Satowra had given the pack. Perhaps that’s why she was here. She thought idly, to give the pack that tender loving care that was needed to grow. Pleased with that thought, she padded on, silently wishing the flower luck to thrive on. She wondered silently if whoever would be the next alpha would stay for a long time this time. Would they leave too? Would the pack be cursed to go on forever with a new alpha every few full moons?

Her darker brown ears flicked into alert position as a howl emitted through the forest. She felt herself get excited, but nervous. The sound was sad but sweet, and it put her on edge. Tense, she followed the sound. Did it promise a good beginning or bad? She vaguely realized that she asked herself a lot of questions, and wondered if the new alpha was kind enough to answer them for her. Would the alpha answer her questions of the lands past? Of were the pack got its name? Would the alpha teach her ways that she didn’t know of? Or would she have to go find another member for that? Of course I would have to find another member, she though, chiding herself. Alphas demand respect, not for wolves who ask questions like pups. She snorted with discontent.

She found herself at the end of the trail, finding a clearing, where the New Alpha made himself seen. She blinked. She had never formally met the wolf, but she had seen him and recognized his scent. Was he close to Satowra? She frowned. The air in the area almost had an ominous feel to it. Even though she had just recently graduated from her teen side and was now a full grown adult, she felt like a small pup again. Her ears pressed against her skull with discomfort, then realized he probably could see her. She stepped forward in a proud position, pushing away her nervousness. It appeared she was early, there was only the new alpha and another wolf she didn’t recognize. She nodded a greeting to the new wolf, then pressed her belly to the ground with her ears folded back in a submission posture. “I am Makko, my Alpha. Pleased to be acquainted.” She grew silent, hoping he would tolerate her speaking out of turn; for she didn’t know his rules yet. Her sharp intelligent golden eyes lowered from his face, daring not to look up.
