“Cersei. Enough.”
Hush spoke quietly, her voice sounding far more aged than before. Her frame was withered, her slightly rounded belly the only part of her that seemed healthy, and that was not due to food, but to the baby she carried that had caused all of this. Her eyes were rimmed with white and her face seemed too skinny to hold any expression other than exhaustion or pain. Her hip boned jutted out at an impossible angle and she had rapidly diminished on the journey to the desert. There wasn’t much to look at anymore.
But somehow, she was still beautiful. Was it the way that she walked? The way that she spoke from her thin pale lips? No, it was the way that through it all she refused to admit her sickness and wanted to always be there for her child. Through thick and thin. She would not ever lose a child of hers again.
The cremello took a step forwards into plain sight, standing next to her daughter with a fragile neigh to Hollowpoint. She did not touch him for fear of her daughter’s accusing eyes.
“Hollowpoint has done nothing, if you are to hold a grudge, hold one against me.” Her voice cracked as she spoke. She hated this, she hated what she had made her daughter become and she hated that by being with the one she loved she had made herself look like a fool. She pushed her maw against her daughter’s ear and whispered into it, all the love she could muster was put into those words. “I’m so sorry.”
Three words, that was Hush could bear.
“I’m so sorry!” she spoke again, her voice higher, more desperate, louder, the words directed at Hollowpoint as she held back the sting of tears in her eyes.
“I’m so sorry.”
