aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Mimic was hanging out with his sister, Saydin, the two were mainly inseparable. For a long time, since they were young pups, it had only been them two. Unlike their other siblings, mother and father hadn’t taken them away, apparently they had been forgotten in the big litter. Lucky for Mimic and Saydin, Vela had taken the two in and cared for them. Now, instead of the small forms of pups, they were bigger as teens with ungraceful longer limbs. Mimic halted as a almost long forgotten smell came to him, one that seemed familiar. The ivory and ebony brute looked to his sister, who was still following the trail, not noticing yet that he had stopped. That is, until a bark hit the air, one that had his head turning around much like his sister’s night colored one did too. The two exchanged a glance, gray orbs clashing with bright blue ones as excitement and confusion buzzed between them. Mimic couldn’t believe it, their siblings were back, and if he was right that was Xena who had barked. Their long lost sibling’s call wouldn’t go unanswered, and with Saydin following after him, he lead the way to their old den. The place they had been born and later abandoned at, a place that from visiting, he knew had over time become an almost forgotten memory and somewhat neglected wreck.

It had been a long time since they’ve seen their family, Mimic realized, and wondered if Xena, Papercut, and all the others would even want him and Saydin around. Mimic was nervous now, but was excellent at hiding it, especially for his sister’s sake. The only thing he could do was keep telling himself that they were all family. Surely the would all care for each other, even if they were separated for awhile? Coming into the clearing, where the den that held so many memories for him was, along with a few somewhat familiar figures. The little bit he could recall from being so young. Xena, Jasper, Hecate, and Wicca were all there before him. The scent of Papercut was in there, showing he was obviously around somewhere. A faint scent of Sin could be smelt on them, showing that the beta female had accepted them into the pack, bringing them once again together. Mimic, knowing this was his family, and believing in the whole pack and family idea, came forth to greet them. The first was Xena, since she was the closest, and the one calling them all together. The ivory and ebony titan extended his head out to her, offering to rub muzzles, and waited to see if she would meet him half way. Saydin was silent behind him, making him wonder if she was nervous now too. He doubted it though, his sister normally wasn’t shy or anything like that, she never had been.

Xena, Jasper, Hecate, Wicca, it’s nice to see all of you again.

Mimic knew Saydin’s voice was normal as ever, with a hint of warmth in it, but she still remained back. Gray orbs looked to his siblings, waiting for their reactions, wondering how they felt about losing them when mom and dad came to get them. The titan didn’t resent the others for getting left behind, far from it, he didn’t even fully hate his parents for it. He figured they had just been overlooked in the whole process of taking the pups away from Aurora Borealis. In a way he was kind of glad they had been neglected like that, or else they would have become so close with Vela. Their lives without their parents and other siblings hadn’t been so bad, sure it wasn’t normal and easy at first, but with adjustments he had come to love it. In fact he was curious as to what would have happened if they had been taken with the others, but he wouldn’t have changed it. Now, he was just waiting to see how his siblings would react to him, or if they too would treat him like a forgotten memory. Mimic just hoped that whatever they did wouldn’t hurt Saydin, she had been through enough.
