It was a rather cool night, and Deku was already starting to regret his decision to wade in the river. Deku gulped as his mother's words hit his ears. Well, she really was here, and this was no dream. The golden brown male turned slowly to face her, the water flowing past him as he stared at her moonlit form. Deku made his way out of the river, dripping wet, and didn't even bother to shake himself off. His top half, aside from his head, was still rather fluffy and dry, and he looked as silly as he acted.

Deku kept looking at her with disbelief before saying, "It is so hard to believe...it has been so long, mother." His voice was still shaky, though, he naturally had this in the voice. Deku had a nervous aura to him, ears twitched in every direction as the noises of earth continued on, relentlessly. He wanted to ask her where she had been...but, Deku kept himself away from others. He knew his father was on the mountain and avoided seeing even him. Shadow's scent was missing, but he only ventured to certain parts.

"You...are alive. I am glad..." he said softly, looking away from her form and off into the distance.
