(( Sorry for the late reply and any mistakes, it's hard typing around a fat cat in a cuddly mood xD ))
As her queen spoke of family, Ti gave a small nod, glad to see she wasn't the only one fond of such connections. Though she was surprised, and pleased, as Seline carried on. To be honest, the old wolf was rather fond of her name and it's meaning, she felt that it was one of few remaining links to her wild northern home. In the old tongue of her pack, Tjikiju was named after the dew that was found in the early morning, sweet, fresh and beautiful. Just as her brother, Kijautae, was named after the unrelenting force of a fast flowing waterfall. Though, as she thought sadly about the brother she was missing, Ti wondered, with curiosity, what Selines' own name meant? It was a word she didn't understand, whether it had meaning to those fluent in this language, the old gal didn't know, but it had a beautiful quality of it's own, feminine, but not the kind that spoke of daisies and buttercups. One that spoke more of darker, stronger tones.
"Not argue that, eh? Name important in north home, yes yes." She would have carried on, but Ti had noticed Saladin sneaking off. She was curious as to why he had departed so rapidly, but, it was not her place so she would not ask. Instead, she returned her attention to her Alpha, just in time to see a sudden change come upon her form. Her ears pricked to attention as the queen appeared to drink deeply of a particular scent, one in which she detected traces of Seline. Another relative perhaps? Though this one was far more important, by smell and by the youngsters' very visible reaction.
“It seems we have a very special wolf at our borders my dear friend, please; won’t you escort your dear Queen to the borders? I wouldn’t mind the company if you yourself wouldn’t, that is.” Tjikiju listened intently, but a warm smile expressed itself on her face after those words. She found herself liking the strikingly hued lass more and more, found herself allowing Seline more of her own loyalty and respect. She was an elder, and as such, she had met many wolves in her time. Some passed by in a blur of unimportance, nothing special, nothing to be remembered. Some were ingrained in her memory for all of time due to family ties or horrific experiences. And others, like Seline, had their own little nook reserved for those the old wolf expected to spend a long time with, grow to admire, respect and serve with honour. "Yes yes, glad give company for friend. Nnros, we say."
Tjikiju took up a slow trot after the younger she-wolf, a bright look in her dual coloured eyes. She could see the tension in Selines' gait, the way she so obviously wanted the pace to increase, but was deliberately keeping it steady for the elders' sake. She felt guilty for slowing the queen and was about to speak up, tell her not to wait up, when that howl rang out over the forest. It was young, male and most definately from the same wolf who's scent had caused such a stir in the oddly marked she-wolf. Indeed, before it's peals had died away, Seline had charged off into the trees, leaving Ti staring blankly at the empty spot where she'd just been. A soft chuckle escaped her maw as she gave a soft shake of her head. "Not even try keep up. Haha, miss be young, yes yes."
Taking up that enduring trot typical of the wolf, Tjikiju followed the path the female had taken, using her nose to lead the way. She figured Seline wouldn't mind her delay too much, in fact, she thought the queen would probably have other things on her mind after her previous reaction. And, as she finally came upon the little scene, she could see why. The young russet- hued pup was so much his mothers' son that a great smile came upon Ti's face almost instantly. She had always wanted to be a mother, but duty to her birth pack had come first and she'd never had a chance. Instead, she'd looked after her brothers' pups. And boy, had she enjoyed the job. There was something about the young that made the years fall off Ti, and something about good mothers that the elder greatly admired.
Though she had missed the previous interactions between the pair, the love between the pair was as obvious as the family resemblance. This little wolf pup would definitely have a place in Tjikiju's heart, simply by being young and son to Seline. "Apalologies, figure slow walk give private time. Little lad credit you, dear queen, fine breeding, eh?" A soft laugh sounded as she tipped her head to the youngster, respecting his royal blood and perhaps, future rank. While she was being surrounded by more and more blood and snow relatives each day, the elder didn't feel like an outsider. Far from it, she admired the close family ties she spotted each time, each meeting. This pack really was a pack, instead of a simple collection of strangers with a similar need for company.
