Mercenary’s visage didn’t fall even as she growled at him in a less pleasant manner. He had had others be mean to him before, but as he didn’t feel he was being threatened and her not being threatened either the pup simply continued letting his tail wag playfully. Her question wasn’t really an answer to his own, but Merc took it in stride. He pounded his paws on the ground again and his smile widened into a grin. “Sneaky? Well I wanted to play of course!” He yipped, “Don’t you play?” He asked a bit crest fallen, looking at the predominantly black coated fem with slate blue eyes, more grey colored now because he was feeling sad. But he instantly perked up as the red fem he initially spotted started towards them. He smiled and started dancing on his paws, “Ohi!” he said happily even more pleased that she supplied him with their names.

“Alana and Frenzy! Got it!” He said cheerfully. “If you didn’t hear, my name is Mercenary! But you can call me Merc!” He was a bit surprised to hear that Frenzy thought he was going to eat them. He tilted his head at her and pouted a little. It wasn’t very nice to think he was mean before getting to know him more, but he guessed it was how she was raised that made her think like that. The pup wasn’t completely put off though. Her sister’s reply certainly put a grin back on his face. “Well I could try to eat you if you want, Frenzy?” He said with a little giggle, “We can test your sister’s theory! Though I don’t really think ‘mean’ and ‘dirt’ would taste very good.” He went quiet pondering this thought for a moment before lunging out to lick Frenzy right across her face, perhaps the quickness and suddenness of the ‘attack’ would catch her off guard so he could have a little taste of the girl. It was all play of course, Mercenary wasn’t mean in the slightest, but he liked Alana, at the very least she seemed like she would humor him.
