At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

I THINK IT'S TIME FOR ME AND YOU TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD
( Very short, sorry. )

As he munched confidently on the juicy rabbit, Njord noticed the not-so-subtle changes in the girl's behaviour, though he remained at ease. He wasn't afraid, he was far too arrogant to be so, no-one could hurt him. At least not in his mind's eye. He was also slightly sexist, he felt that he, as a male, was stronger and more solidly built than any female. Not overly so, mind you, he was far too lazy to put any effort into hating females, but his pride was also male pride. And pride was probably the most active thing about the male.

'How dare you! You are not better than the running elk to the hopping bugs. You, sir, need to grow up and get a life. People waiting on you are not the answer! If I hadn’t come along, offering a share you would have gone hungry tonight. And, when I did you practically stole it like you own the place. Get a life and stop wasting others'

Njord listened to the tirade with half an ear, though he would have raised an eyebrow if he had them. The little lass certainly had a good voice on her, though he struggled to stop himself from laughing at her sentiments. She really had the wrong idea, he would never go hungry, he was far too good a hunter for that. And Servants were most certainly the answer. And then, to top it all off, she stole the rabbit back!

The arrogant male was furious, enough to get off his lazy ass and stand, fur bristling and lips curled. His emerald eyes flashed as Kenina started to eat the rabbit, his tail curling itself above his flanks. "You, impudent little girl, would do well to return that to me. This instant." His voice was low, deep and threatening, an edge to it that had almost replaced the lazy drawl it had contained before. While he was an idle boy, Njord was also a spoilt little prince, and as such, was easily irked by certain things. The bad manners this little princess suddenly displayed was one of those things.

The lass didn't listen to him however, and the male found his ire growing by the moment. How dare she, the rude little cow? She even had the nerve to offer him some of the leftovers! Njord growled, the deep sound rumbling from his chest as he watched her disappear behind some rocks. He would, of course, had made a move to show the girl who was boss, but apparently he'd just stood there stupidly while she did all of the stuff she'd done. He hadn't had a chance to react.

The male found his ire fading as Kenina disappeared, his fur flattening and his snarl fading. It rose again however, as soon as she appeared to... what was this, to apologize? The male gave a hoarse bark, half laugh, half irritated growl, before replying. "Your apology is ridiculous, as is your offer. I certainly have no interest in going anywhere with you, horrible little wretch." Tilting his head slightly, the prince snorted in bemusement, before turning his back on the pretty girl. Without another word, he slunk out of the little clearing, off to find a quieter place to lay down.
