Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

He feels off balance, like he will fall to one side or another because he cannot keep himself up on his own. All his life there has been stability and now, now it chooses to become turbulent and furious -- life has converted Ray into a wanderer. He has no home, because Casteon has been devoured by its own sands and the golden boy has left Bright Moon one time too many. He knows he is not welcome there anymore, and whatever excuses he makes - that the pain and the guilt and the hurt in his heart had been eating him from the inside out - he will not have any place there. He is a stranger to them, now, he's sure, and the bare amount of pride he still retains keeps him from facing the hot shame he knows will come if he admits to Tamlin of shirking his responsibilities. Unlike most wanderers, too, he has no family, and no lover who will take him back when he has grown weary of travel. Loneliness is a feeling he hates, because it feels as though there is a giant, gaping hole torn into his chest. It's that he knows he has no one, and that if he simply stopped breathing, right here, right now... no one would care enough. Once upon a time, they would have. He doubts it now.

His eyes trail down to the paw which is hanging lazily off of the edge of the glistening, slippery rock and he wonders what it would feel like if he just fell off of here. If it would take away his misery. And he knows, too, that he is brave enough to do so; but it's that small nagging part of him that's still left, telling him that maybe there is a hope, a chance that someone might feel something after he does so. Raylen restrains himself and slides slightly away from the edge, his chin resting drearily onto the frost and his tail wrapping itself over his leg. His ribs lift as he takes in a deep, slow breath of freezing air, but with the smell of new snow and something sharp, like the edge of a knife, comes another one. He'd have thought that he is the only one to know this place... the exception being Misty, of course. But this cannot be Misty--

It is.

Muscles freezing instantaneously, Ray is sure that he is simply hallucinating, dreaming that she is here. That her scent is wrapping itself around him like a familiar blanket. He realizes that she has every right to be angry with him, and wonders if hostility will come of this meeting. He left her - just like her old lovers, Phonix, Hunter. Not that he considers himself a lover, but a close friend. She trusted him, and he took her. She's just as broken as he is, maybe more, but she didn't run. She stayed. He feels like a coward.

He forces a nonchalant, mirthless grin onto his lips, keeping his eyes fixed to the horizon where Misty Mountain juts up across from his vantage point. Ray feels her stare on him, it's heavy on his skin like she's actually touching him, and his hackles prickle slightly. When he finally gathers the courage to look to her, his heart drops, plummeting straight through the earth and never seeming to hit rock bottom. He knows his eyes express every last ounce of feeling he's ever felt and all that he is. He doesn't greet her. She needs no greeting, not from him. A simple hello will not tell her the relief he feels from finally seeing the face of someone he knows.

Misty looks meeker than usual and it's killing him. He won't hurt her - at least, not physically. Expression fading into something much more sober, he wonders what he's supposed to say. "It's... been a while," he finally murmurs, unable to hold her gaze for more than those few moments. "I promise I won't hurt you." At least, not anymore.

"and i will give you every part of me,"
