Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Snow fell in damp clumps as a hidden form made its way up the mountainside. Harsh wind was blowing towards this hunched over figure. Stones rose above the lone traveler, the wet dark grey stones quickly becoming coated in the white blobs falling. A harshly falling shower of snow fell hurriedly downwards as a mass of fur leapt onto one of the lower stones. Quick steps of clicking nails and pawprints showed the snowy white figure was a lupine. Dark eyes can be seen from what must be the face, narrowed in determination. The wolf walks across the stone and leaps to the nearest one.It continues this movement,Walking to the edge of a stone and leaping to the next.By the time the wolf finishes its crossing,The sky is darker then before and the clicking of nails has long ago been muffled. The wolf makes long bounds,The snow too deep to walk through. The wolf’s shoulders are hunched against the howling wind. The head was bowed as the wolf plowed through the thick snow. The wolf stumbled from the numb creeping up its legs.It lay in the snow,So very tempted to let the cold take over. But it couldn’t,It had to get up.To continue. It shoved roughly onto its numb paws and started in a slightly drunk looking stumbling walk forward. It stumbled like this through the blinding snow,Heading towards the right.A started yelp cut into the air.The wolf had jerked into a wall of stone!A silent thanks came from the wolf as it began to follow the stone. It almost fell as it came across a small gap in the solid rock.It slipped through the tiny gap,Thanking the wolf gods silently. It was a small cave,Only big enough for the lone wolf that had entered. It shook away the coating of snow,And it came down in a slow, mesmerizing dance. The dark eyes took this in with a look of awe shining within the dark luminaries. The coat underneath could’ve been another layer of snow,White as the blizzard that roared outside the tiny cave.Hunger was roaring within the lone wolf’s belly,And the clumps of ice that had formed in the fur on her belly and between her toes was making her shiver. It was a damp cave but it was warm enough and hidden,Along with the fact that she was sheltered and out of the blinding blizzard. The wolf was certainly unhappy but didn’t complain. She shouldn’t have decided to come.It was a dangerous idea,What with the terrible weather. But she was lucky. She was safe and out of the snow. That was all that mattered.Perhaps,Some prey would find the tiny cave and scamper inside for shelter and she would be able to eat.And perhaps,With her body heat,The cave would warm. And she could pull the ice clumps out of her fur.It would all work out,Wouldn’t it?She lay down on her side and began to pull the snow and ice from her belly fur and then started on her paws. When she was satisfied,She curled up in a tight ball,Tail wrapped snuggly against her nose much like a cat,And wiggled a little on the hard stone floor. It wasn’t the worst she had been through, Though she had better conditions since she had arrived in this safe place. She hadn’t been waited on,Oh lord no.But it had been comfortable and she went to bed with a full belly. She had to stop thinking,It was hurting the poor vixen’s head. With the need for sleep over-powering the need for anything else,The vixen lowered her head and closed her dark eyes,And slept.

Water. It was on her nose. The she-wolf pawed at her nose in discomfort.Jerking her head away from the salty burning at her nose,Reyna lifted her head and slowly opened her eyes. Noticing that she was laying in water and wet sand,She leapt onto her paws.Glancing across her body,She noted the wet sand on her paws and belly fur.She wrinkled her nose in disgust and began to wade deeper into the icy water. She dove under the cool water smoothly and popped back up a moment later,Water streaming from her unmarked snow colored canvas. The snowy vixen, with her stomach rumbling,Scanned the water for prey.A flash there and her white jaws flashed out.Blood trickled down her jaws and chin,Staining the wet white fur on her chin and neck. She paddled towards the shore,Eager to start her meal. When her paws were solidly on the rocky bottom,She pushed forward with a powerful push from her hindlegs. She used this extra push to rush smoothly onto the sandy beach.Slowing to a stop,The female scanned the beach,Wondering why there were so few wolves out and about. The view of the lake was beautiful,It was plenty warm enough to swim, and there was prey all over the place. But she could only spot a few wolves here and there. She shook her head sadly and began to search for a spot to eat.Finding none to her liking,She headed to the forest surrounding Leisure Lake.Finding comfort in the massive trunks that were around her,Reyna settled onto a large pad of moss that was shone down on by speckled sunlight that made her drying coat ‘sparkle’.She began to eat slowly,Ripping small mouthful’s from the trout. She finished it in good time and decided to lounge a while and think about her dream.Of course she knew it was more than a dream; It was a sign.It had to be.Make no mistake,Reyna didn’t do that kinda crap. She was a straightforward, facts only, kinda gal. But,As much as she hated to admit it,She had a feeling that it had to do with her past,Or someone of her past. And she wasn’t going to rest until she knew why she had that dream. She thought about how long it would take to get to Misty Mountain and groaned. She rolled onto her paws and glanced around. While the fish had satisfied her hunger for the time being,It wouldn’t be enough for the whole journey.Sighing,She headed towards Misty Mountain,Deciding the follow Romance River until she reached Prey Platue. There she would hunt and after making and eating a kill,She would head to Staircase Falls and follow the river until she reached Misty Mountain.
