At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Admittedly, it was a difficult thing to get rid of fear once you'd let it eek out in the first place. In Cade's case, it was getting easier as the conversation went on, especially with the number of times he was harping on just how weak she really was in comparison to him. Granted his latest slur didn't hold too much stock. It might have been better if she knew what the hell a toaster was. But since he'd described it at little, she narrowed her gaze, deciding that it wasn't a compliment. His next statement caught her off guard. Well, guess she hadn't hidden it well enough. Wasn't like she was going to tell him any time soon what she'd been thinking. He really would kill her if she did and oh how mother would be angry if he did. That is after she found Eric and told him how stupid Cade had been and that she deserved what she'd gotten. Seline was quite the mother. Always waiting until after she had berated her children and beaten the crap out of them to tell them that she really did care. Despite that, Cade still went home, still particpated in the family, and did her best to perform to her mother's and the rest of the family's high standards. After all, getting enough corrections from them could mean that they'd be the ones to kill her. Seline wasn't too old for a new batch of pups if Cade and Quirino screwed up and got themselves killed. Loving family they were indeed.

After she'd told him about where she hailed from, he seemed to grow even more interested in her. It was kind of...not so much unnerving as it was creepy and weirding her out that he was asking so many questions. But before he got to the numerous questions, he had mentioned that red was his favorite color. That wasn't much of surprise given his love of blood and the fact that he'd said she smelled good. He hadn't verbally said that she looked good, but she could see him teasing out the flaws and praising whatever he saw in her that he liked within the depths of those icy blue spheres. It kind of made her feel like a slab of meat at the market, which if she thought about, she probably was as far as he was concerned right now. Steering her thoughts away from those ideas, she brought them back around to his questions. They were simple enough but since when did something that likely wanted to eat you bother spending time finding out information from its prey? Cade raised a brow for a moment and stared at him, trying to puzzle him out for a second before she decided to add voice to the equation.

"You ask alot of questions, toaster one. And you'll find that I don't have a favorite color but like to do whatever I please."

She still had no clue what a toaster was, but oh well. If she had found it offensive, maybe he would too. And at that she did something that he likely wasn't expecting. Since he'd felt the need to shove his face into her personal boundary so many times, she nimbly leaned forward and flicked her tongue across his nose. See how he liked it. Chances were he probably didn't find it amusing, but she'd never get better at dodging angry retaliations if she didn't have any to practice dodging. Once she'd retreated back to where she had previously been standing, her muzzle still just a few inches from him, she continued speaking.

"As I was saying, Satanicans like to do as they please. You can pick us out of a crowd with our white and crimson coats, but coming to find us is not a good idea for the weak. Mother would probably like you though. That is, of course, only if you don't eat me. If you did, she'd have to hunt you down for revenge."
