The One

"I'm sorry..." Maero whispered, looking up at the appaloosa. "Forgive my silence." She smiled. Immediately, she moved her posture to a moderate headset, smiling weakly. There were words she wanted to tell the beautiful lady who stood before her in wonderment, but there was a strong sense of respect that remained her silent. The wind blew sharply, nearly echoing her chill of the mind.

But before she could stop herself, the long sigh escaped her lips and traveled with the wind across the trees, the earth itself that seemed to echo her exhale. The sky seemed so strange to her. It was cloudy, but in patches the sun shone brightly, covering the earth in mix and matched spots. It was almost as if the heavens chose who was worthy and who was not of their sunny blessings.

"Has it been so long since I've saw the sun?" Maero's voice was in awe, a tear escaped her with a smile of all too knowing. Her heart leapt in her chest eagerly. If she could grow wings and fly...She'd follow the sun from when it rose and fell and make the clouds her home.

"Fayte, you can ask me things if you want. I can see you want to." She at last turned and spoke to the appaloosa mare, her spirits at least lifted a little bit better than they were when they first started.
