"T-toric... What happened to you?!" Texas cried out. He inched away from the pool, eying the horse-like figure behind the dog. His thin tail quivered between his legs. What kind of madness was this?! He heard Toric's attempted soothing words without listening. It was as if they went in one ear and came out another. He thought back to when he had first met Toric to ensure himself that things have definitely changed. He then recalled the old brute explaining blessings and he froze in his tracks. That flipper of a tail must have been... Oh of course! How foolish was he to forget the special magic of the mountain. He still eyed the Ztehn wearily as he sheepishly returned to the riverbank.

Once he determined that the creature wouldn't harm him, Texas dropped himself beside Toric, distraught. "Well this isn't exactly the meeting I imagined," he said, eyes continuously flicking to the flipper-tail then back to his face. "I'm sorry for overreacting like that..." he sighed, dropping his head onto his paws. "I completely forgot about these so-called blessings. It didn't occur to me until now that if there was a blessing to give you wings, surely there was a blessing to give you a fin." He looked at Toric, suddenly very tired. He hoped the dog wasn't too upset at Texas. He, himself felt very ashamed already.
