Tai, Rift and Cirque were already teens taking care of themselves and beginning to find their paths in life. It was a bit dishearting, it seemed Siege’s family all had a bit of wandering in their blood that kept them from staying close. Kai, Ume, Oki, Samikle and Hayabusa all had left the mountain. Kai and Hayabusa rather early, but Ume, Oki and Sam only in the last couple of months after their younger brothers had been born. He felt empty nest syndrome settling itself back in. Sure his younger boys were still about, but he missed having his family and wished many of them were still around. Of course, having them grow up had their bonuses. No longer did he have to deal with the brothers’ bickering and complaining, and it gave Alli and himself plenty of time to enjoy each other, but Siege still felt a weight in his heart, as if they had driven them all off. It seemed whatever he did he could not keep a family from being divided and falling apart at the seams.

In his own pup-hood, Siege’s family, he thought, had all been killed by his father. He knew it was wrong, but he had attempted to follow in Rapier’s footsteps, attempted to keep the only family he had remaining in his life, that had even failed, but he had gained more. Alavera, the fem he was supposed to destroy ultimately saved him. He chuckled inwardly, Alli was right, he was getting soft… But, he had discovered that same day he had met Alli that Scimitar and Kattari had survived the dragon attack and since then wondered if his mother and other two siblings might have been out there somewhere.

He doubted it. They would have turned up by now, least he would think so. He wondered if they would hate him for what had happened, Scimitar and Kattari did, that much was for sure. He mused on this for a while as he wandered the cool area of Traydon River, but he had come to simply relax for a day in a bit warmer, well much warmer, climate. A scent distracted the blue, black and white marked brute. The red eyes turned across the land, shaking his head slightly in disbelief of what he was scenting. Hayabusa? It was unmistakable, least Siege was pretty sure it was his son. It had been so long since he had seen him. Eager to see if it really was his son the brute broke into a run following the scent on the wind. Powerful limbs sent the brute barreling through the forest, flowing around the trees and giving him enough power to leap over the brush, only to soon have the crimson gaze set on the heavily scarred brute, but it was unmistakably his son.

“Hay!” The father greeted the son with much enthusiasm, moving forward to embrace his son, taking little notice in the small Red Back dragon. “I didn’t think you would ever come back home.” He said keeping the boy in a tight embrace for a time. Siege’s banner waved quickly, the only thing he needed in the world to make him the most happy brute ever, it was having his family. He didn't even mind the river's water flowing about him, nor did he really think about the fish he might have been after.
