The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Wolves continue to bustle in. I try to keep track of them all but after so many, they all just start to blur together. I catch the deep emotions in Lolani's face as she glances at Kershov upon her arrival and my eyes flash open curiosity but I brush it away when she sits next to me. I catch her soft voice and a lone ear flicks toward her. Right back atcha. Been up to anything interesting? I ask in a soft voice of my own so I don't disturb the continuing arrival of wolves.

I notice a look given to me by a wolf I met at the borders, Lore. He seemed like a robot then I notice the smirk on his face. Had a change of heart, have we? He actually looks like he has humor now. I return the smirk and even give him a mysterious wink to keep him guessing.

I look over when Starship approaches close, looking with interest in Lolani's direction. I see mischief in her eyes and my throat rumbles softly, a warning growl. Starship is a prisoner, not a member and Lolani is my pack mate. Who do you think I'll choose to back up? I eye her silently when she asks her a question about her mood, and then the puzzles fit together at her next remark. So Starship is Lolani's prisoner. My growl picks up a little in volume. Shouldn't that make you more respectful of you kidnapper then, wolf? My voice drips with sarcasm and the urge to tear something to pieces. My eyes dare her to try me. I don't even think to call her by her name.

Another female dashes in, looking clumsy and unsure but then she looks at me and her tail starts wagging, cutting off my growl in mid stride as I eye her cautiously. Why the hell is she wagging her tail? I arch a brow up as if to ask "something amuse you?" when she suddenly gushes out that I'm pretty. I pause for a long moment, before my lips slowly tug into an amused smirk. Nice of you to notice, sexy. I say with a teasing wink, the words practically purring off my tongue.

My attention strays back to Kershov now, remembering the obvious pleasure on his face and body language as I leaned against him, rubbing my scent into his hide. The moment is gone when Lucifer arrives but hey, some things are better left to a private moment. Kershov tells Lucifer to submit if he wants acceptance. He greets Marx by his name and whispers something into Firecrest's ears after greeting her. Of course, he must have noticed my reaction to the girl's antics because he shrugs in my direction and I merely snort under my breath to show him I'm not impressed.

I have to say, I like his style more and more, especially when he turns down Starship by telling her to get down on her back before roughly grabbing her pelt to pull her off of him. I can't hide the violent gleam in my eyes and the vicious twitch of my muscles, ready for use at any moment. He notices Mamba then and picks jokes at her about bringing in Starship before asking about the time she spent away. I can guess that it was no vacation for Mamba's victims. He then turns his attention to the quiet girl I didn't even notice enter. With too many smells to distract me, I didn't catch hers. I turn my attention to her briefly when he asks for her to submit.

Kershov notices Starship's snippy comments to Lolani too. He looked downright pissed when he saw she was hurt but then to see her own prisoner talking to her like that? It was too much for the king. He went off, calling her all sorts of insulting things. My tail gives a swipe of satisfaction. Kershov moves without warning, head butting Starship's shoulder and then straddling her, fangs gleaming at her throat. My own fangs flash in a malicious grin as my muscles tighten in excitement. He tells her to apologize, threatening her to the mercy of the pack. How gracious of him. Then he laughs, my skin rippling with pleasure at the sound.

He looks up, telling everyone else to run off to Spring Grounds if they can't handle it here and my grin only widens with glee. Firecrest moves off to do as told, a good little pet if you ask me. Scorpio has the guts to get up and move closer to me, giving me some sort of signal to which I ignore. Sorry, sonny, but you're still below me so I'm not getting your flanks even if you pay me. I roll my eyes and focus on the exchange with Kershov and Starship, one ear flicking back when Scorpio asks to escort Starship away. No, I don't think Kershov will want to let her leave after she just got here but I'll let him answer the kiss-ass.

Around this point, my gaze looks for Mamba, sure that she's enjoying herself. I remember the remark she made to me about going with my first instinct. It's like she read my mind. I had laughed softly and gave her a wink. I'll remember that. She always has a way of making my eyes gleam in that teasing way. She had told Starship off too right before Kershov got there and I had caught her eyes when Scorpio appeared, seeing the disbelief in her eyes at his move. I'd rolled my eyes in a "ain't worth it" kind of way before returning my attention to Kershov.

Another wolf is submitting off to the side but who knows if Kershov will notice. Then the smell of blood has my gaze shifting to a shifty wolf on the edge of the clearing. His eyes meet Mamba's so I glance her way. Friend of yours? I ask in a soft playful tone, sure that she'll hear me. At some point, I wonder about Wolverine, recalling his less than humble greeting to Firecrest. I guess Kershov must have said something to her about him because his look just said "come over here and I'll kill you" as obvious as can be. No wonder I like that guy.

More blood reaches my nostrils and I turn my attention to a female sitting there, talking about joining the pack. My nostrils wrinkle. Something smells off about her but I can't place it. My eyes narrow in curiosity. Blood trickles down her face and I arch a brow up. Then I glance toward Fallacy. I'd noticed her get up and go sit down by Kershov, more toward his flanks to watch out for him. She'd returned my nodding greeting and answered Marx with a sarcastic remark about sleeping at night. I'm sure Marx will like that answer.
