The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Marx narrowed his gaze, but his smile didn’t leave his face as she guessed whom he was. He was probably the longest standing member for the pack, so sure, his name had been around, He’d once already successfully defeated a challenger, but the way she said it sounded more intimate. The way his name rolled off her tongue, he blinked slowly and tried to place her, but nothing came to him. She may have heard of him, but he’d never met nor heard of this fae. However, her persona was certainly that of a Malignant wolf if he had to assign her to a pack without knowing it first. His grin widened and he nodded subtly as if he was off in the distance mentally.

That’s a shame, I was so looking forward to seeing a pretty thing like you beg. Kidnap you? No, I already have far too many hostages too look after myself for the time being. But if they should….disappear….well now, you may just have a chance to have the pleasure of my company.

Sarcasm dripped from his words in thick, heavy chunks and he chuckled after finishing. It was a fun, violent, dangerous little game that the intelligent wolves loved and the stupider ones didn’t begin to understand. Threats were thrown openly through crafted words, however, the fae could rest her mind easy. He really did have too many prisoners to look after, plus the duties of training Abendrot’s soldiers. No rest of the wicked, they say. Marx inhaled deeply once more and certainly no pack aroma was clinging to this wolf, however, she looked far too good to be a simple loner. Opinions, Opinions.

Oh, don’t worry your pretty little head honey. I’d be correct to assume that you’re in fact more dangerous, in your current state. I learnt early on how dangerous your gender can be.

Well, his mother had tried to kill him at birth. You couldn’t blame him for being a little bias.

Now, this is most unfair. You know my name, but I can't say I know yours. You have me at a distinct disadvantage...although you probably would enjoy thinking that.

(It's fine- I'm enjoying this thread.)
