Nalleya was laying down, her head resting neating on her large white paws. She had gotten a bit drowsy and drifted cooly into sleep. It dragged her in like yarn to a kitten. Her golden eyes fluttered open, but not to her den. The young cougar female was starring at, and standing in, a lake of blood. Her maw dropped in shock, a frightened gasp escaped her throat. Nalleya witnessed two floating corpses, of what looked like two kits, brush by her. Then more, tens more. Bodies of young kits were carried by her with the current. Before she could react, or even move, a familiar voice broke her nightmare.

"Um. Hi."

The mother jolted awake, claws suddenly unsheathed. She had a low snarl errupting from her throat. But once she saw who was standing in the light of the cavern entrance, the growl faded into a light purr. Nalleya tried to get up, failed. Tried again, and failed... again. A pain hit her stomach and she collapsed in her nest, curling up into a small ball.
