At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Lady Violet, a dainty femme with a lightly speckled, silky grey pelt, made her way almost soundlessly through the trees. Her lithe movements made her coat seem to ripple over her body, specks of sunlight casting down through the remaining leaves on the winter trees making her coat seem to almost glow in contrast to the shadows the large tree trunks cast. The light shone across the grey topping her head, which encircled half her eyes before washing down over her back to lightly cover her tail. A stretch between the grey and majority of white fur was a barely noticeable sandy beige that showed off her golden eyes.

She was of a thinner stature than most other femmes, yet a lot of that was to do with barely being able to hunt enough to keep her well; she had no pack to aid her when she was too tired or ill to help herself. Yet despite this she was in good spirits and a little too much towards the proud end of the scale. Her head was held high as she leapt easily through the shrubbery covering the forest floor and her tail, though not held up dominantly, was poised purposefully behind her in a relaxed state.

Following the elegant Lady came a stumbling, puffy runt whose head barely reached half way up her legs. Rex was a dark pup, the opposite to his young mother in almost every way; from his movement to his colouring. Every other step the pup caught his oversized paws in the greenery and yet still ploughed on to follow his provider. Rex’s body was covered in a black fluff, with only a stripe of white on his chest to stand out from the dark colours. He was just reaching the age of growing through his first puppy coat and clumps of the fluff were falling out occasionally, revealing an equally dark yet slightly smoother undercoat.

The two, guided by Lady Violet, were heading for the lake they had occasionally visited. They had not been in Blossom Forest long, but the Lady had high hopes for life here. Surely, she thought, it would be much easier living somewhere that peace was said to reign amongst wolves. She paused, one paw cautiously held in the air midstep, when she reached the edge of the forest. She could see a few paces in front of her two wolves caught up in each others presence. One, the large male, soaked through with lake water, and the femme greeting him.

Rex knew no caution and tumbled straight on, curious as to who these wolves were. They had travelled alone, out of others’ way, mostly out of Lady Violet’s worries of harm coming to her pup. He on the other hand was a social creature by nature and immediately bounded up to the pair, stubby tail wagging. He looked up with a crooked grin on his face, stood between them and waiting to see if they’d notice him.
