During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

He didn’t listen to her the first time… or the second, for that matter. But by Fenris, when he managed to catch up with her scent and her words the third time she addressed him… His brows changed form, and he leaned down to take in her scent. Did he not believe her? But his expression when he pulled back up caused Kobato’s little heart to do a whopping two flips. When she lay beneath him, he slammed his rear to the ground and lowered to the ground, covering Ko with his scent and warmth. She shuddered violently. Angel was the first to appear after little Kobato had whispered to the big black brute that she was not in the most fit of beings today. The femmora that Ko had once thought was the daughter of Tor, Sita, walked in with a grace that could only be matched (to the little one) by a fabled Unicorn, whose hooves make no sound when they touch the ground. To the pup, Devil’s Angel always held a certain kind of magic to her. Something that Kobato wondered for minutes on end about. The ease in her step, the relaxation she seemed to bring to all those around her? Kobato, if she had not been Kobato, would have been jealous of the valkyrie. But she was Kobato… a sick Kobato. So instead, she watched meekly from underneath Serris’s body as she approached. A few words were spent on the duo that had arrived right after the King had. Brothers, most likely. She spat a few words out at them, about how they should be showing their gullets… but Kobato could barely hear her. At least, her words, that is. Her voice sounded comforting… something like the wind when pressed over a field of flowers. Kobato closed her toffee windows and pushed her narettes right into the devil’s obsidian fur beside her. That didn’t last long, however, for it would seem that the pretty lady also had something to say to both Serris and the little fur-ball of joy. Her words caught the little desert rose unaware. How sick is she? Ko’s little eyes opened and she caught Angel’s look, her breathing still irregular, though it was now most masked by the Alpha’s pillar. Her voice was calm and collected. Serris did not answer, and when Kobato was asked a question, if Serris had been playing with her, her dial moved like a magnet to the sound, drawing out of its shell. Calm and collected? A beautiful smile graced the gals kissers as she began to speak to the same sex. Absolutely!. Even the Deaf could tell that that was a fraud answer, but the smile the gal placed on her palette… that was not fake at all. Pressured and forced… but not fake. It disappeared quickly, but it had been there, and that’s really all that mattered, was it not? The little tyke didn’t put her head back down in Serris’s fur again.

Next in came the two knights that Kobato had been so excited to greet at the border. Set and his brother, Rise. The last time she had seen them, Serris had scooped up her little bodice and then run off, dropping her to the ground without caring about her fall. She did not blame him for his actions. When she had fallen, she had gotten right back up again, still bouncing and happy as ever. A short talk with Serris showed just how much Kobato was willing to put on the line to make him smile and make his heart happy… and she’d run back to the borders. She didn’t get very far. Serris had scooped her back up again and taken her to a part of the territory of which she was not familiar with. It took her a while to get back to Serris after that. And so, the little princess’s knights in shining armor had not been seen. The two came in as a whole, separated into two halves. If she had not been out of it, the runt would have marveled at how both their movements co-existed with each other’s. If one moved, then by goly, the other one did too, as if they were caught in an endless dance. Set’s eyes caught onto Serris, the big demon that still hovered over the siren as if she were some precious treasure that needed protection, and then, they caught onto Kobato. Oh how they lit up! Like flames with alchohol, they seemed to ignite with happiness. Rise had a grin on his pallid features, and in turn, Kobato wished to wiggle her rump to show her own joy at seeing the two. But with a King on top of her burning bodice, there was nothing she could do but smile. That being said, Kobato’s smile re-appear on her facial features. Her attempts to make hearts happy… they had not all been in vain. Rise whispered something to his brother, and both of their displays of pleasure disappeared into thin air. Kobato’s own smile also faltered, and she listened as Rise spoke up. Lord Serris, sir, I hope you don’t mind our presence. Is… is she alright? Serris had said something before to the two boys, but with him being above her, all Ko could hear was a hum and feel the vibration of his ribs as he spoke. His heartbeat thundered against her pelt… and for some unknown reason to her, this was a pacifier to counter the anxiety that seemed to be rising in the area. When he spoke this time, Kobato still couldn’t understand him… but he hesitated. HESITATED. Kobato cut in as soon as the vibration of his speaking stopped. Kobato is fine! Just a little cold…So Serris offered to wrap a warm blanket around her! Brrr!!. It had slipped again. Although Ko took extra measures to use her own name instead of “I” as she had done not minutes before, when it was only Serris, Roni and the first pair of brothers… she had slipped on his name. Calling him Serris instead of Serryberry, as she usually did. How could a little one know that speaking up with a happy tone could cost her so much energy? It most likely wasn’t convincing at all, but the part about it being cold? Yes, that was true.

The last one to arrive was an unknown ball of leaping terror to the adults. But Kobato’s weary eyes lit up nearly instantly when she saw his form come crashing into the clearing. He paused on the edge… and then slowly made his way towards her. Kobato, are you okay? The little dove, as her name suggested her as, smiled, but the moment of appreciation was cut short by a saber that was actually Serris’s long black fore. His breathing had become different, and Kobato had to struggle to not be squished underneath him. This difference in behavior had her stunned, though she couldn’t afford to be so, as her breathing was already irregular. Serris spoke something else, and Kobato’s breathing increased rapidly. He sounded angry… and even when Prison decided to pay his dues to the big black male, Serris wouldn’t have it. I’ll be okay! Right, Serryberry? And stay here! So Kobato can see you when she wakes up! Then, we can go play!. But there wasn’t much that Kobato could do. She couldn’t speak aloud much more, much less for Prison, because even now, it was hard to breathe, and as the sun began to filter over the tree tops, the little dove’s toffee windows began to close unenthusiastically. Sleep, although unwanted, came to the girl quietly, like fog does to a harbor full of ships. She shuddered a few more times, but snuggled back into his fur once more.
