At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Winter had forced itself onto the world with an unsuspecting thud. It seemed that in no time the trees had lost their leaves and the rivers and lakes were gaining a blanket of ice, treacherous to any wolf who didn’t watch their step. The ground was covered with frost that crunched under weary paws and an icy breeze ruffled through fur and caused shivers to rumble down spines.

So that was settled. Yoki, who had once vowed a life of solitude and safety, was throwing herself head first into a new life... In a pack! At times it felt like she was drowning, waves crashing down on her, her body crumbling under the pressure but then he would come along and save her from her demons. He would tell her that everything was going to be okay and for once in her life she believed. Amatus had got into her head and was slowly changing the way she thought about things, for the better, and to prove it she was going to join a pack. Of course she wasn’t doing it on her own... No, Amatus would be with her every step of the way.

The weary ess trudged along after the male. He had spoken of two packs in an earlier conversation but she had no idea where they were headed or what fate lay ahead of them. Only Tor and Fenris knew that one and she could only hope they would take pity on her and provide a little more sunshine to her life. Although they had already brought Amatus to her so she couldn’t grumble. The wolves had set off from Staircase falls three days ago and had walked none stop, though pack borders were nowhere in sight. She supposed that all the packs where at the furthest reach of Blossom Forest, it was probably safer. The lass was a lot healthier than she had been in previous weeks, but with all that walking she was beginning to grow weak. It was not that she needed food but she needed to drink and rest. Her limbs yearned for her to lie down and take the weight off them but she couldn’t, well not just yet.

Before long the pair approached a clearing, a very big clearing at that. The wolves padded through the forest before they came upon a lake and the lass smiled. “Amatus. Would you mind if we stopped here for awhile. I need a drink and could do with a rest.” Before she even got an answer off the male she ran towards the river. Although it was icy, the femme managed to break a small patch of ice near the bank and bend down to lap up the water. As she did it sent a chill down her spine, the water was freezing and she couldn’t bare to drink anymore so she turned and left the water to begin the process of re-freezing.

The lass walked back to where they had first entered the clearing and flopped to the ground. A heavy sigh off relief was forced out of her bodice as she did so. In true pup style the female rolled onto her side and stretched her legs carving scratches into the mud before she rolled onto her back and started to sway from side to side rubbing her back in the soil, her limbs stretched out above her. She realized soon that she must have looked like an idiot so promptly rolled onto her belly and giggled. “So where are we going? I know you mentioned about two packs but I can’t remember exactly what you said. To be honest I was too shocked to listen properly.” She laughed slightly. She didn’t want to seem rude to the male, as she did find most of what he said rather interesting.
