PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

searching for an escape

Mouse studied the young girl’s face, seeing the wonder it held for the surroundings, and perhaps a bit of surprise at seeing anyone here. It endeared the grullo mare to the painted filly, for she too appreciated the beauty of this place. It also offered solitude for the most part, which she needed every once in awhile. Though if she had not stumbled upon the girl, she would soon have gone looking for Impa. The others here were fine, but only Impa had gone out of her way to make her feel welcome. Then there was Anath. Little had been seen from her lately, and Mouse would be the last to complain about it.

Suddenly, she heard a rustling behind her. An ear flicked back to listen, and her nostrils flared to catch the other mare’s scent. Her body was very tense until she determined that it was not the pale general coming after her. She suspected that Anath really did not wish her harm, but until she was sure, she would take no chances. This time, it was simply the overo mare that had sent the wisened mare running. Mouse felt no threat from the newcomer, so she simply bobbed her head when the silver grullo gave her name and listened attentively to the youngster in front of her.

Skylar. Her name suited her, Mouse thought. She wondered, as the child within her shifted, why the painted blue filly was unaccompanied. Though the girl was quite old enough to travel alone, Mouse found it somewhat strange that she would come here, at this time of year, by herself. Then there was the fact that although the yearling spoke of the scenery, she glanced often at Mouse. Disconcerted, she shifted her hooves slightly on the snowy ground. Still, she forced her face to keep its pleasant expression as she answered the filly. “Hello, Skylar. It is quite lovely here, especially with snow.” She hesitated, unused to speaking so much at once, before glancing at Giselle. For the time being, Mouse was unwilling to ask about Skylar’s reason for coming, and was not sure it was an appropriate question anyway. Perhaps the other mare would spare her the uncomfortable question.
