Katana jumped, startled at the voice of another wolf, “Drowning her sorrows and those who hated her.” She glance over her shoulder, as the wolf walked over and licked her ear, and whispered, “It’s going to be alright.” Katana took a step back.
“Alright? Alright?! How could anything be-” Her gaze dropped. She cleared her throat and spoke in a much softer tone, the tips of her velvety ears growing pink with embarrassment. “I’m sorry… I mean, I g-guess we’re both dwelling on things of the past, I guess I got carried away…” Why am I stuttering? She thought, shunning herself silently, Man up! I’ve never stuttered before! That’s strange... after all these years; I have to get nervous again now? She lifted her head and looked him in the eyes, her own blue orbs glistening in the fading sunlight, “I-I’m Katana… I don’t believe I caught your name--“
