Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

I would never get tired of Isola, no matter how she jests with me and tempts me. Even her joke about naming a child after Heyel does not sway me from my future path beside her, though that was a cruel joke. I should have known that Heyel would tell her how he teased me with that "condition." The wicked look in her eyes is enough to make me want to devour her right there, and I don't mean in the eating sense. She sets my whole body on fire with her eyes, the dangerous way she moves her body. No matter that Isola didn't take up the Art as most of her family have, she could still be just as deadly if she wanted to, this, I have no doubt of.

She outruns me easily, flitting through the trees but I don't mind because the view's not that bad. She will always be faster just as I will always be stronger, not that I'd ever think to use that against her, only for her. I will use all that I am for her and her alone. I finally catch up to her, finding her sitting majestically on a log. She looks away and I can sense the withdrawal. She must be intimidated by my gaze. I hold nothing back when I look at her, letting her see the way I worship her. I may not be bound to her as Finley is but there is no doubt that I would do absolutely anything for her. I act as if saddened beyond relief as she talks of wrinkles. Isola laughs as she jumps down from the log, telling me that its her job to take the wrinkles from me. But she doesn't understand my wording. I smile, gently. It means that you'll leave me to be with someone younger, someone without wrinkles. My eyes twinkle with humor.

She leaps down and we press against each other as we start walking. Now she turns the subject to homes, packs. I think back to my talk with Heyel, when I told him that I would take care of Isola. He told me that I would have to provide for her, give her a home and I said I would. Now that promise is about to be fulfilled, as we talk of homes, pack lands to call our own. She asks my opinion of lands and so I give my critique on each of them before asking her own opinion. That matters above all. She tells me that this last land is the best, Diveen. She agrees with me because it has Paracon and Trenus both mixed into it. It is the perfect mix. I smile, glad that we agree because I would want her happiness above all else, even my own for my happiness is fueled by her. If she's happy, then I'm happy.

Her words are cut off by a loud call though, a sad call of such bitter heart break that I snap my head around to listen. The shadows are creeping in on us as the sun drops below the horizon, our pelts both glowing in their own ethereal light. Without telling me what she was doing, Isola suddenly turns and bolts, running to the call as I somehow knew she would. I follow as her shadow, staying right on her trail as she runs toward the call. She slows up as we reach the shore of the river, Isola not wanting to get in the girl's space. She is hurting, that's obvious. Isola talks gently, not wanting to upset her further. She introduces both of us and asks about the girl's song. I stand protectively next to her, offering the girl a gentle smile.
