Talia saw him wince and shook her head. Brutes were always so stubborn. They could be inches from death and admit nothing.
"Liar." She said gently, then moved to try and catch him as he staggered and fell.
She panicked a little, but she still had the sense to put her emotions aside and take care of him. He was still breathing, but a deep gash on his shoulder looked bad. She started licking it clean to prevent any infections and murmured to him every once in a while to assure him she was still there. She didn't leave his side, knowing that her pups were safe for now in their den and hopefully fast asleep.
